Jennifer Lopez is sued by her first husband for dismissing him from the managerial position at her restaurant in Pasadena.
Cuban-born Ojani Noa filed a complaint on Tuesday, claiming that Lopez offered him a job at a salary of $1,000 a week and promised not to take it away without good cause or reason. But six months after the Cuban restaurant, Madres, opened its doors in April 2002, Noa was fired without any reason or explanation.
She didnt even have the decency to explain why she had lied to lure him to accept a job that she did not plan on letting him keep in the first place, says the lawsuit, according to E!Online.
Mr. Noa tried to call Ms. Lopez to find out what prompted this sudden change of events. His calls went unreturned.
Noa is seeking unspecified compensation.
The former couple met in a Miami restaurant in the late 1990s, where Noa, an aspiring model, worked as a waiter. After the reported proposal at the Selena post-production party, Noa married his raw-celebrated fiancee in Miami on February 22, 1997. After the couples divorce a year later, the Cuban hunk decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue bigger fame in showbiz. He managed L.A.s Conga Room until Lopez asked him to help run her new restaurant.
