Last spring minimalism was considered sexy. Sweet and dainty – thats what was feminine. This spring forget all that. Shine, be glamorous, and make men notice you!
Bigger is better. More is more. The hottest accessory this spring is necklace. And when last year everyone was obsessed with huge brooches, this year women are to wear necklaces and bracelets. That’s the piece of advice from Glenn McMahon, president of Ellen Tracy.
Accessories are playing the most important role in your wardrobe. Shoes and handbags are becoming sort of independent items. They are funkier and more ornate. Belts, bangles and cuffs should be big. But if you can’t afford tons of accessories, buy just one – long necklace.
All the fashion magazines, shows, celebrities and models make the long necklace one of the hottest trends this spring.
"For spring, it's just necklaces galore," said Jodi L. Brodie, co-owner of Treasure House in Owings Mills, Md. "The big thing about necklaces right now is layering. Layering pearl with gold, or silver with gold or wooden beads or turquoise beads with gold or silver necklaces."
Turquoise is the season's signature material, and the bigger the bold, blue beads, or the more you have on, the more in style you'll be.
