The show gives a golden opportunity for three hundred young fashion designers from all over the country to design, to become famous, and to take the grand prize. The winner will be announced tomorrow night. The whole TV show was broadcasted on Star One.
Only 16 participants were left after the two first rounds, and took part in the reality show itself. The designers lived together in small groups of four. They’ve spent six weeks in the fashion House in Mumbai, creating one outfit a week from every team. On Sundays, after the Mini Fashion Shows 2 designers were voted out.
Donatella alongside Indian style gurus Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla will judge the final auditions. Her fashion house will give the winner an apportunity to have a six-month internship at Versace.
The designer told British Vogue: "I am very excited about Versace's association with Lakme Fashion House. We at Versace have always been committed to challenging the boundaries of the fashion industry and being on the cutting edge of new fashion trends. By giving an opportunity to a gifted designer to intern at Versace, we hope to nurture budding talent and give them a platform to make an impact in the high fashion industry."
Meantime leggy supermodel Naomi Campbell was among the celebrity guests that arrived for the finals. But at the last minute the model changed her plans and disappointed her fans with her absence.
Lakme Fashion House producer Samir Gupta explaned: “Date problems. “There was a last minute change in her schedule and there were some issues with her agent and manager.
”Also, someone close to her was ill, so she would only have been able to come a week later, by which time our show would have been over.”
