As the Grammy Awards are approaching, we can finally get our hands on the complete list of Grammy nominees, announced Tuesday in Los Angeles. Unsurprisingly, Naomi Campbells new beau sex symbol Usher is on the list, although - surprisingly - not leading it, as expected. The list is headed by innovative rapper Kanye West, hailed by many for stepping back from the ever familiar rapper scenario of violence, crime and misogyny and releasing an album with deeper, more thoughtful lyrics. Usher, voted one of the worlds sexiest men by People magazine received only 8 nods compared to Kanye'd 10.
Although Usher’s “Confessions” sold roughly three times as many copies as West’s “The College Dropout”, Chuck Taylor, managing editor for Billboard Radio Monitor said Kanye’s getting more nods then Usher, may be a battle cry for rappers to come up with something different.
Among other best albums nominees are Charles all-star duet album “Genius Loves Company, ”Green Day’s “American Idiot,” and Keys’ ”The Diary Of Alicia Keys”.
Usher won the MTV Europe Best Album Award on November 18, appearing at the award ceremony holding hands with Naomi Campbell, as reports the British Vogue, the couple demonstrating “possessive affection” for each other.
