Julia Roberts gave birth to a boy and a girl at a Los Angeles-area hospital early Sunday, reports USA Today. Hazel Patricia and Phinnaeus Walter Moder are the first children for the 37-year-old Hollywood star. Roberts’ spokeswoman, Marcy Engelman said that both mom and twins are “doing great.” No further details about the birth or the size of the babies were released so far.

The actress spent the last six weeks of her pregnancy in enforced bedrest, anticipating the birth of the twins who were initially expected in January. Last week, Roberts talked about her then-unborn babies: “Things have gone incredibly well, knock on wood,” she said. “We’re at a point now where there just aren’t enough hours in the day to count our blessings, really.” She also said she was lucky to avoid morning sickness or swollen ankles. “I’ve heard horror stories about people who have a sip of water and then throw up for four hours. But I come from hardy stock. I’m Southern. That must have something to do with it.”

Before marrying cameraman Danny Moder on July 4, 2002, the Oscar winner had a long and rich history of various relationships. She was married for just under two years to country singer Lyle Lovett in 1993, engaged to Kiefer Sutherland, had romances with actors Liam Neeson, Daniel Day-Lewis and Matthew Perry, and most recently dated Benjamin Bratt for three years. But this time things seem to be going pretty well for a long-legged “runaway bride”. “I have got to a place in my life where I’ve learned to really appreciate security and love and confidence,” she says. “I’m an old lady. I’m about to have kids. I don’t need to seem cool and interesting and crazy and on the edge.”
