Hailed cooperation between Karl Lagerfeld and clothing retailer H&M is ending up in mutual discontent and disappointment. After the designer complained about his collection for the chain being produced in larger sizes saying his collection was meant for slim and slender people, the clothing chain demanded an apology.
I can see why the women of Britain feel upset and I think he should say sorry to them, marketing director Jorgen Anderson, who received complains from customers who read Lagerfelds comments in press told the Daily Record.
Fashion should be fun for everyone, so I can understand why people got insulted. Weve been very clear from the beginning that it was to be a full size range.
Ann Widdecombe, who called Lagerfelds comments barmy, says:
The fact is, most women are a size 14 or over, so why should they be denied the joy of his fashion?
