After 4 years of marriage Madonna and her filmmaker husband Guy Ritchie have renewed their wedding vows, reports The Sun. A source close to the couple has told the newspaper that they held a low-key Kabbalah-based ceremony at their Ashcombe country estate in Wiltshire.

“Christmas is a special time for them because they originally tied the knot on December 22 four years ago.”

“Madonna and Guy are closer now than ever before, ” an insider was quoted as saying.

“They’ve been together a long time and felt the time was right to renew their wedding vows.”

The Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director reportedly gave Madonna a ring worth 100,000 pounds from Parisian jeweler Fred, while she reciprocated with a ring that she ordered more than six months ago.

The decision to renew wedding vows came after a stressful year in which Ritchie put his career on hold to accompany his wife on her 2004 Reinvention tour, says The Sun.
