On Wednesday night, R&B star Usher returned home with 11 trophies that he snatched at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. Other big winners were Alicia Keys who won 7 awards, Outkast, the recipient of 5, and Kanye West who walked away with only 4 awards this time.
The music business biggest popularity contest, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, honors artists based on their performance in the US music industry trade publication Billboards weekly music charts.
26-year-old Usher, who recently became the first artist in 34 years to top the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart four times in a calendar year, was the winner in such nominations as Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for his Confessions and Hot 100 Single of the Year for Yeah! (featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris).
Its been about 10 years since we started, and we knew this would happen, said the chart-bursting singer. We dont put out a record without a number one record, do we?
