New York Fashion Week will break out with extravaganza at Radio City Music Hall on Sept. 8. Visitors of the Fashion Rocks will see a multidimensional media event which includes performance, rock concert and museum exhibit. Created by the Conde Nast Media Group, the show is dedicated to the close interaction between fashion and music.
The supersized concert will feature Beyonce, Rod Stewart and Usher. Andre 3000, Avril Lavigne, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill, Hoobastank and the Black Eyed Peas are also scheduled to perform at the show which is expected to be “an extraordinary evening of style and sound”.
A month-long exhibition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland will also take place within the framework of the event.
The performance will be widely highlighted: the October issues of 12 Conde Nast and Fairchild magazines (such as Vogue, W, Vanity Fair and Cargo) will include collector's supplement on music's impact on fashion. The concert itself will air Sept. 26 as a prime-time special on Fox.
