The list of 2005 CFDA Fashion Awards nominees will allegedly include Kate Moss, Yohji Yamamoto, Alber Elbaz and Francisco Costa.
The British supermodel, according to rumors, is expected to be honored with the Fashion Icon award, the Japanese couture star with Lifetime Achievement Award, Lanvin's Alber Elbaz with the International Award. Calvin Klein's new designer Francisco Costa is deemed to be named the Womenswear Designer of the Year. "It's Francisco's time," British Vogue quoted one expert as saying. "We're all so excited for him."
More than 450 CFDA members, press, retailers and stylists will meet at the New York Public Library on June 6 to celebrate the accomplishments of the fashion's leading names.
"On behalf of the Board and our co-chairs, we look forward to the 2005 Awards, when the industry will gather once again at the New York Public Library to celebarte the creativity of American fashion and the diversity of talent in the design community," says Peter Arnold, executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, on the association's web-site.
The final decisions as to the honorees are expected to be made by the board on Tuesday.
Las year's winners include Carolina Herrera as Womenswear Designer of the Year, Sean Combs for Sean John as the best Menswear Designer, and Reed Krakof for Coach as Accessory Designer of the Year.
