US Consumer Product Safety Commission has asked Reebok International to recall 140,000 of its Allen Iverson toddler shoes because of its potential choking hazard, The Associated Press reports the US Consumer Product Safety Commission as saying. The Commission said the logo tag on the tongue of the shoe should be peeled off to avoid the risk of swallowing by young children. No accidents have been recorded so far, except one 8 month old putting the logo tag in its mouth. Fortunately, the tag was removed by the child’s mother.
The numbers included in the recall are: 99553, B99553, 99554, B99554, 105155, B105155, 105158 and B105158. The model number can be found on a label on the underside of the shoe’s tongue.
Consumers who have bough the shoes are advised to stop using them immediately and contact Reebok for a refund.
