Dior is launching the new advertising campaign for its J'Adore fragrance with Charlize Theron. The Oscar-winning actress will be appearing in the ads this fall, as the French house confirmed yesterday. Theron said that working with John Galliano, who is now the head of Dior House and photographer Nick Knight, who shot the campaign, was by far one of the most amazing experiences in her life. Actress said that she felt extremely lucky to become a part of something created by such geniuses.
Dior's company refused to disclose the length or cost of Theron's contract, nevertheless it is rumored to be a three-year $5 million deal. The bargain was also considered a response to Chanel’s ad campaign starring Nicole Kidman, but Pamela Baxter, president and chief executive of the Perfumes and Cosmetics Group of Dior's parent company, LVMH, denied such a tough competition:
"Dior had planned all along to sign a celebrity, and executives here were already talking to candidates before the Kidman announcement was made. However, you have to make sure that you have a good fit for your brand when you're choosing a face, because if you don't get the perfect match it can do your brand more damage than good. We found the perfect match in Charlize." she told
