India’s pride and top beauty Aishwarya Rai has never kissed on-screen, but she may cross the taboo line as she is making a move into international entertainment and is about to explore Hollywood.

“We’ll cross the bridge when we reach it,” she said in an interview on CBS’ 60 Minutes, adding: “We’ll work on the story, work on the scene. I’ll work on the part and -- and let’s see.”

The 31-year-old star admitted though that smooching on the silver screen “would definitely be a topic of discussion”.

“I’d assume that’s really a reflection of our society,” she was explaining. “Of course, people kiss and of course, people have a very healthy love life. This is the land of the Kama Sutra. But nevertheless, in our society you don’t really see people around the street corner kissing or being extremely, overtly, physically demonstrative publicly. They do it privately but not publicly.”

Rai’s career started in 1994, when she won the Miss World title, was named Miss Catwalk and selected as a contestant with the Most Photogenic Face by the pageant’s judges, and then quickly became one of India’s top models. She was endorsing products like Pepsi, Palmolive, Casio pagers, Philips, Sheetal diva and other multinational brands. Aishwarya was spotted by famous photographer Steven Meisel, and was soon featured in Vogue magazine.

Today, the stunning celebrity, recently named by a British magazine as the world’s most beautiful woman, has 17,000 websites devoted to her. She is the highest paid actress in Bollywood with about 30 roles in her filmography and has the starring role in her first English film, Bride and Prejudice, a Hindi version of the Jane Austen classic, which comes out in February.
