Fashion photographers wait for new models! Photogenic baby contest comes to South Florida. Calling all cute toddlers and beautiful babies as the search begins in South Florida for America's Most Photogenic Baby of 2007.

Proud parents started bringing their babies, from newborns to five-year-olds, to Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise Thursday for a photo shoot with fashion photographers.

The contest includes four categories: beautiful, fashionable, precious and comical.

There is a $35 entry fee per category, which includes a photo shoot of about 15 shots and a color 8x10 photo. All photographs will be taken by American Performing Arts Network. There is no additional cost and parents get to keep the pictures.

Photographers are located in the Wannado City court at Sawgrass Mills Mall, 12801 W. Sunrise Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

About four weeks after the photo shoot, the chosen photos will be on display for judging and voting at the Sawgrass Mills Mall. There are two ways to win:

Judge's Choice winners: based on the points given by a panel of judges consisting of modeling professionals.
Voter's Choice winners: chosen based on the donations raised for Children's Miracle Network hospitals.

Vote tickets are 50 cents each. Proceeds from the voting benefit Children's Miracle Network and Miami Children's Hospital Foundation.

The finals of the contest will take place at Sawgrass Mills February 23 - 25. Voting on the photographs will be open to the public.

An awards ceremony will be Feb. 25.

The winning baby will be awarded a large trophy and will become a finalist for America's Most Photogenic Babies of 2007, which includes winning babies from other cities.

The winner is also eligible to receive a modeling contract with a top New York agency, a modeling portfolio and 500 composite cards valued at $400.
