After a three-year break, Destiny's Child are back together on the Destiny Fulfilled and Lovin' It world tour, more appealing than ever in the attire created by Beyonce Knowles.
The 23-year-old pop diva and the House of Dereon, the fashion label by the singer and mother Tina Knowles, announced that they have designed an exclusive wardrobe of sixty original ensemble costumes for Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to wear for an estimated forty domestic and thirty five international concerts.
"The wardrobe for the tour is a direct reflection of Destiny's Child. Each piece has a moody, romantic feeling, featuring dramatic cuts that are sexy and uninhibited," said Heather Thomson Schindler, Co-Creative Director at House of Dereon.
The garments, which run from sporty to dressy, were designed with imported leathers, stretch silk, silk charmeuse, crystal mesh, and iridescent and silk chiffon and took hundreds of hours in handwork, custom finishing and intricate beading. For crystal appliques and beading adornment, the House of Dereon has teamed up with Swarovski.
"Swarovski is thrilled to have a creative partnership with the House of Dereon and to have the stars of Destiny''s Child sparkle on stage with Swarovski crystal," Nadja Swarovski, Vice President of International Communications for Swarovski, was quoted by Texindex.com as saying.
Beyonce, who has launched a successful music career and proceeded to her other passion, fashion, is said to have played an active role in the creative process.
“By having Destiny's Child wearing House of Dereon on the tour, I am able to express my creativity and love of music and fashion,” she said about her involvement.
