While the First Lady of the United States is getting ready for her husband’s inauguration ceremony with the help of Oscar de la Renta, President Bush’s daughters are preparing to make a statement of their own in sexy, stylish Badgley Mischka gowns.

Jenna Bush plans to wear an emerald green silk crepe column gown with metallic green banding and jeweled insets at the hip.

“Jenna’s dress is sophisticated, sleek and sexy on her. She was into various shades of green, and this particular one looks good with her skin and hair,” Badgley, who designed the dress with partner James Mischka, told The Associated Press Tuesday.

Jenna’s twin sister Barbara picked a little more dramatic and romantic dress described by Badgley as a pale aquamarine silk chiffon gown with a plunging neckline, a ruffle seam skirt and jeweled straps.

“I get the feeling they are interested in fashion. They are always dressed beautifully,” said the designer about the 23-year-olds.

Though used to designing for Hollywood stars, Badgley was thrilled to offer his services to the Bush sisters who contacted him several weeks ago. “We were honored enough to get a phone call from the White House. It was like, `Oh my God, it’s the White House on the phone!’”

Since joining forces in 1988 as Badgley Mischka, Mark Badgley and James Mischka have dressed the likes of Winona Ryder, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Hurley, Mira Sorvino and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and have been hailed by Vogue as two of the “Top 10 American Designers.”
