German fashionistas in Munich now have the great opportunity to enjoy Diesel wear as it has opened its 10th and the biggest Diesel store on Munich’s Rezidenzstrasse. It took the company over two years to find the best suitable place for the store, which provides women’s and men’s wear and includes Diesel Denim Gallery offering a new pair of limited-edition jeans each month that cost from $320 to $500.
Last week, the founder and boss of the company Renzo Rosso was awarded with the Textil Wirtschaft Forum prize for his life's work in Heidelberg. The award was previously given to such legends of fashion industry as Gianni Versace, Jil Sander and Gabriele Strehle. Rosso was described at the ceremony as someone who managed to create the multi-billion company without loosing its edge.
"This is the first time in Germany that we've gone more premium in both the look of the store and the collections offered," Dietmar Axt, country manager of Diesel Germany, told WWD. "And, it's the first time bags and shoes are being offered in such depth."
Germany is the 4th biggest market of Diesel, which has limited its distribution to 550 from 1300, choosing a more selective positioning.
Nevertheless, Diesel has been undergoing great expansion of its own stand-alone stores withing the last few years.
