This disease is terrorizing women all over the world: breast cancer. Fighting it is much harder than trying to prevent it, especially when it doesn’t require too much effort from you. Just look carefully at what you eat and what kind of life style you lead. Researchers show that the right diet can help lower the risk of breast cancer in the future.

The best foods for this diet would be yellow and orange vegetables like carrot - it includes beta-carotene which helps fighting breast cancer; cruciferous vegetables like radish, broccoli, rutabaga, turnips, cauliflower that contain indole-3-carbinol, which lowers a certain type of estrogen that may promote cancer; limonoids, found in the peel and white membrane of oranges and tangerines. Tomatoes, garlic, grapes, dark cherries, and soy beans are also linked to lower rates of breast cancer.

Avoid also refined grains and choose whole grains instead. Give your preferences to butter than to margarine and drink 1%-2% organic hormone free milk rather that fat free since milk fat helps fight cancer cells.

Eat cold water fish like tuna, anchovies, swordfish, polluck, crab, sardines and omega-3 rich nuts and seeds (walnut, pumpkin, and flax).

Drink green tea. It is rich in EGCG, a compound that inhibits breast cancer cells in mice.

Make your own Mediterranean dressing with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Studies show that Mediterranean women have lower rated of the deadly disease.
