Bedazzling Liz Hurley is launching her new swimwear line, Elizabeth Hurley Beach. The collection comprises brightly colored tunics, sarongs, terry cloth miniskirts, chiffon tops, linen pants, and bikinis. Many of the items are embellished with beads and semiprecious stones. The line also offers a selection of accessories, including a terry cloth beach hat and oversized beach bag. The summery collection pieces, priced at $175 and above, will be available at a dozen Saks Fifth Avenue stores and a few other locations worldwide from April 14.
“I’ve been personally involved in every single aspect of this collection: design, fabrics, factories, fit, accessories, sales and promotion,” Hurley said in a statement, according to WWD. “I even went on a draconian diet to do the modeling.”
In order to maintain a perfect figure after the birth of her son Damian, 39-year-old Hurley has followed a strict dietary regime.
"I'm on a good old-fashioned low calorie diet. I'm going to bed hungry," she was quoted by Dailymail.
"Eating very little breakfast, not too much more lunch. Then only tiny little snacks in the day," she added.
But while the alluring model and actress is working on flawlessness of her body, nutritionists have expressed concern over her long-term health.
"She is on a starvation regime, which is extremely unhealthy. I've worked with and advised a number of top models, but she's basically running on empty, which will affect every function of her body," said Roz Kadir, who has worked with the England rugby team.
"Anyone eating that restricted a diet will be severely malnourished."
