We all remember times when military look was considered the hottest, the brightest and the nicest ever seen. It looked sexy on women, suited every event and was great for parties. Then designers came and took it away from us claiming that girls should wear knee-length skirts and romantic blouses. We were missing it, strapping our necks with necklaces and wearing super-high heels.
Khaki can differ – green, dark-green, blue, purple. It’s something most men and women have. This season bravely take it out of your closet following the example of high-end labels like Miu Miu, Prada, Hugo Boss, Gap Inc. and Ann Taylor. But this spring/summer season makes it look feminine: jackets, ladylike pants and even dresses get the military look. "It's not androgynous," says Louise Trotter, head women's-wear designer at Gap. "It's extremely girlie."
Pair the khaki with bright colors: green, blue, and red. No one has forbidden evening ensembles with khaki.
Hippie movement made khaki popular, 90s brought it back to life, nowadays fashion says khaki is as comfortable and casual as denim. We just can’t do without it.
