US scientists: women are more likely to dress to the nines when they are at their most fertile. So which came first: fashion or egg?

It's official: Fertility Fuels Fashion. I would say, that's a FFF formula. (Not to mention, woman's behavior highly depends of the day of her cycle, too...)

A woman’s dress sense (and especially its still unexplained dynamics) has been found to be governed by her ovaries in addition to taste and personal preferences. A reserch carried out by UCLA and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire provide strong evidence that women put more time and effort into their appearance when they're ovulating.

A woman’s style – clothes and makeup – is strongly affected at that time of the month. But that's not all: a woman’s strength, appetite and attitudes toward men and each other alter as well.
UCLA professor Martie Haselton, who lead the study, said: "What we did was photograph the women on a high fertility day and a low fertility day, and we showed those photographs to a separate set of judges, and we asked them, 'In which photo is the woman trying to be more attractive?'"

A woman's high fertility photograph performed highly: as high as 60 percent of the time — a rate much higher than random chance. "For the women who were actually ovulating on the day of their period, it was more than 80 percent for those photos," the professor said.

Haselton said, "Women experience a decrease in appetite near ovulation, even though there's an increased caloric need. And that's not just compared to when they are PMSing."

There are evidences that women are not only more fashion-oriented, but stronger when they're most fertile.
