Niles, Ohio (USA) was the scene of the first EML Live event of the 2004 season on March 20. A second event in the series was held the next day at the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairesville. More than 250 girls (most with family and friends in tow) appeared at the free event to get their chance to be chosen as a candidate for the USA National finals.
History of Stars
The Elite Model Look Event is the most successful model search event system in the World. Classic stars Cindy Crawford and Stephanie Seymour among others got their start in Elite Model Look events. As did young sensation Alessandra Ambrossio, newly introduced spokesperson for Victoria's Secrets exciting PINK line of junior wear.
Every Girl Gets Her Chance
Expectations were high at Eastwood Mall as they are at all stops for the EML>>Live events. Following a typical event schedule, girls began registering at Noon and by 1:00 p.m. music was pumping and scouting was under way. Each girl had her call to walk down the runway to do a turn in front of top Elite scouts. No fancy dresses or shoes on display here - the girls are encouraged to just be themselves.
After all the girls had walked the runway, the scouts met privately to agree on their choices while the audience was treated to a prom fashion show. When the scouts returned, Karen Lee (Director of North American Scouting for Elite) gave an informative presentation about the modeling business and related careers.
Some Girls Get a Second Chance
The Elite scouts then announced a list of girls "called back" for another review. The call-back girls came forward to have Polaroid and digital photos taken. While the master of ceremonies interviewed the girls onstage, the scouts made their final decision for the girl to receive an expense-paid trip to participate in the Elite Model Look USA National Finals.
One Girl Goes to EML USA Nationals
Lucky Alexandra was chosen in Eastwood and lovely Erin from Ohio Valley Mall. There were so many exceptionally pretty girls that Karen was compelled to recognize several other girls as having looks which might be very good for commercial or other markets. Karen encouraged those girls to pursue the business.
