Popular hip-hop singer Missy Elliott has signed with Adidas Originals to launch the new apparel line. The line, called “Respect me” (a play on Missy’s initials), is inspired by Missy`s sporty style, and will comprise shoes, clothing and accessories. Elliott is making sure that “Respect me” (meant exclusively for girls and women) runs in ladies sizes from extra small to double extra large.

The line will be available in stores in September and will represent, as Adidas spokesman Lee Krispin said, “a true fusion of sport authenticity and global street style”.

The singer has worn Adidas footwear almost exclusively in the last three years to endorse the brand informally, and appears in it in her latest video “I`m Really Hot”. The singer plans to donate some of the sales profits to support Break the Cycle nonprofit organization whose mission is to aid domestic violence victims. Missy is a spokesperson for the group.
