The Emmy-Award winning designer Patricia Field known to many as the costume designer from the HBO phenomenon "Sex and The City", has entered into an exclusive agreement with Candie's, Inc to design a limited edition collection of footwear, apparel and accessories, under the CANDIE'S label. The collection, "Vintage Candie's by Patricia Field" will debut Spring 2005.
Patricia Field began her career in 1966 when she opened a boutique in Greenwich Village, New York. The downtown store, Hotel Venus, has been a favorite for celebrities and the fashion-forward.
Commenting on the partnership, Neil Cole, CEO, Candie's, Inc. stated, "Weare thrilled to be working with Patricia Field on this special vintage collection of footwear, apparel and accessories and she will be working closely with our licensees in each of those categories to create fabulous product. Pat understands the essence of the Candie's brand. She has an incredible sensibility for the junior consumer and has a great sense of style which was shown by her work on "Sex and the City".
Patricia Field stated, "I felt like this was a very natural fit, our companies are very compatible. Candie's and Patricia Field have similar characteristics, which we will draw from to create the vintage collection. To me, Candie's means fun, sexy and fashion and that is what you will see in my collection."
The Company will support the "Vintage Candie's by Patricia Field" collection produced by its licensees with a highly visible marketing campaign,which may include a fashion show during Spring 2005 fashion week in New York City or Los Angeles, launch parties on both coasts and personal appearances by Patricia Field. Plans also include a national consumer print campaign in the March and April issues of fashion, lifestyle and entertainment magazines.
The "Vintage Candie's by Patricia Field" collection will be distributed at better department and specialty stores, http://www.candies.com and Hotel Venus. The collection will be in-store by mid- February and will be priced slightly higher than the Candie's Spring collections.
