Sir Sean Connery will take to the catwalk for a Scottish Tartan Day fashion show that kicks off on April 6th in New York. Held at Sotheby's on Park Avenue, it will be attended by 600 people from a cross-section of Big Apple society. The 72 year–old actor will be chairing the Dressed To Kilt event with First Minister Jack McConnell attending.
Other celebrity models due to appear on the catwalk include Mission Impossible star Dougray Scott, Sex And The City star Kyle McLachlan, Monarch Of The Glen's Alistair MacKenzie, model Marcus Schenkenberg and designer Jeff Banks. The fashion styles will range from traditional to the contemporary. The show will raise over 64,000 pounds from tickets alone, but we hope to raise over 600,000 pounds in all from sponsorship and an auction. The kilts are being designed by Edinburgh kiltmaker Howie Nicholsby who dressed actor Vin Diesel for the MTV Awards in the Scottish capital.
