The German fashion chain Hugo Boss has been expanding its international presence and is opening their store in a Dundrum town center in South Dublin.
The outlet will be their first retail spot in Ireland.
Hugo Boss established a clothing company in Metzingen, a small town south of Stuttgart, in 1923. He went bankrupt in 1923 but tried again and, after joining the Nazi party, he became the official supplier of uniforms to Hitler`s SA and later to the SS.
Boss died in 1948, but his business survived and has been listed on the stock exchange since it was floated in 1985 by its owners, the Holy brothers.
It as later acquired by Mazotto textile group which continues to control the company.
The retailer has set up new subsidiaries in Belgium, Denmark and Sweden, obviously, the time is ripe to set up one in Ireland.
