Lauren Bush, the Tommy Hilfiger model and aspiring fashion designer, niece of US president George W.Bush acting as the honorary spokeswoman for the World Food Programme's new student campaign against global hunger, says she is not looking to move into politics permanently. "It didn't honestly cross my mind that doing this job for the United Nations would look like politics," she told The Sunday Telegraph. "I was brought up taking on causes but I don't want a political cause for myself."
Lauren spent a summer studying fashion design at the renowned Parson School of Design. A model for several years now, Lauren has graced the cover of Town and Country (September 2001 issue), the London fashion magazine Tatler, Vogue, W, Talk, and Vanity Fair.
She has worked for Italian designer Gai Mattiolo, Abercrombie & Fitch and is the face of Tommy Hilfiger. Pirelli chose her as the cover model for their limited edition 2002 calendar. Lauren has done work on behalf of children's shelters, hospitals, women re-entering the workforce, and various animal rights groups and is currently studying at Princeton.
