Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld have designed costumes for Madonna`s Re-Invention tour that kicked off yesterday in LA. So have Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu and Jimmy Choo. According to Women's Wear Daily, which revealed a first glimpse of Madonna's costume yesterday, a jewel-encrusted corset designed by Christian Lacroix replaces her famous Jean-Paul Gaultier's cone bustier during her spectacular Re-Invention performance.
According to reports from her first LA concert, Madonna has put up her most outrageous show yet, that featured electric chair, nearly nude pregnant women, and plenty of lesbian love. The diva changed into combat gear when she sang "American Life" backed up by the sounds of dropping bombs and flames blazing on the video screens behind them. The concert also featured Madonna`s remake of John Lennon’s single “Imagine” backed with a video of sickly, starving children of a war-torn nation. Hebrew text, displayed in the background of performances, hinted on the signer`s passion for Kabbalah, the ancient Hebrew spiritual teaching.
The 45-year-old pop diva did not disappoint her longtime fans, many of whom paid up to $200 per ticket to see Madonna`s “Re-Invention”. She will be playing more than 20 dates in the US and Canada during May, June and July, eight in the UK and Ireland during August.
