Ford Models, started in 1946 by Eileen and Jerry Ford, created a new kind of global industry based on beauty. Eileen and Jerry began the business in their home and went on to create the world's most recognized and respected modeling agency.
Ford has supplied many of the world's most renowned photographers with talent. Eileen's fierce discipline and marketing led Ford in representing the top models in the world and she maintains her ceaseless vigilance over the industry. Jerry Ford negotiated the industry's first big-money contract which was for Lauren Hutton in 1974.
Among modeling agencies, Ford was the first, and remains one of the few, to pay models at the end of every week rather than waiting for client payments, helping the models to get established.
Katie Ford took over in 1995. Under Katie's direction, Ford has expanded internationally as well as domestically.
In addition to the New York City headquarters, Ford has offices in Los Angeles, Miami, Scottsdale, Toronto, Paris, Sao Paolo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The annual international Supermodel of the World™ contest is in its 20th year, and will be touring the world to find it's next rising star.
