From the next year running, EU authorities will ban perfumery, manicure scissors, nail-files and razors on board of airplanes. This measure is being taken to ensure air passengers` security and to prevent terrorist attacks.
Shaving–sets and razors, fake guns, fireworks and sprays are blacklisted items. 70% alcohol is deemed insecure; perfume falls under this category and is also on blacklist.
The decision to put restriction on air transported baggage has been initially taken as early as 2002. It took a year for the European council to settle the organizational matters. The law will join into force in January 2005.
