Us Weekly has announced that ever "best-dressed" movie star Jennifer Aniston, 37, and Vince Vaughn, her Break Up co-star, broke up.

The magazine said the relationship started to deteriorate immediately after Vince presented Jennifer a 9.5-carat yellow diamond engagement ring worth a half a million dollars on June 27.

Reportedly the split happened just before Vaughn went to Britain to shoot Joe Claus.

"It's not common knowledge, but we're not together any more," Vaughn said.

Apparently Vince lost interest in Jennifer when he discovered she was "needy and controlling". "Vince eventually saw how needy she is, and it scared him off," a anonymous friend told the magazine.

"Jennifer lives in a crazy world with all the media. It's just not his thing," another source said.

The breakdown had "hit Jennifer hard", the magazine said.
