Pop star Jessica Simpson was hospitalized while filming a segment for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in Chicago on Monday.
A stomach virus caused dehydration of the 24-year-old star and made her seek medical treatment at an undisclosed Chicago hospital, where she had a brief stay, Simpson’s spokesman, Brad Cafarelli, said in a statement.
``She is already feeling better after checking into a local hospital where she was treated and rehydrated before being released and returning to Los Angeles,'' AP quoted him as saying.
The show segment entitled “Red Carpet Makeovers with Jessica Simpson” is scheduled to air Friday, two days before the Academy Awards. Other stars who will appear in the episode include actress Lara Flynn Boyle and singer Ashanti.
