Fashion designer Julien McDonald was voted Best Dressed Man by the readers of Western Mail in his native Wales.
Mr. Mc Donald believes the reason is his loyalty to street retailer Zara and small local Welsh shop.
In the on-line interview for Vogue he said: “My biggest love is black shirts and they cost – you’ll never believe it- £16.99, from a little men swear shop in Abergavenny. They look like they cost £250 and they’re gorgeous.”
He claimed the Chanel veteran Karl Lagerfeld and Victoria Beckham liked his shirts and even asked where he got them.
He also added:” My sisters gave me Zara tokens for Christmas this year because she knows I’ll spend them. I think the cut is superb. And I love to mix and match their tailoring with pieces from Gucci and YSL.”
The poll also featured the best actor Ioon Gruffudd and Charlotte Church’s boyfriend Gavin Henson.
