Australian pop queen Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and had to postpone her Australian tour. The 36-year-old celebrity was in Melbourne visiting her family when she found out about the disease.

According to the concert promoter, the Frontier Touring Company, Kylie will start her treatment immediately. The representative of the Frontier, Michael Gudinski, told Australian television: "I’m hoping and praying because the doctor found it so early that everything will be OK."

"The one thing I know about Kylie is, she's a fighter, and we're all thinking very, very positively and can't wait for the day she is smiling and back in action. But she's got a few tough weeks ahead of her." 

Gudinski also added that Kylie's diagnosis should show all women how important it is to get checked for breast cancer periodically.

Kylie in her turn said in the statement that she’s very unhappy about postponing the shows as well as her visit to Glastonbury Festival. "I was so looking forward to bringing the Showgirl tour to Australian audiences. Hopefully all will work out fine and I’ll be back with you all again soon," she said, according to Times Online.

The show in Australia had to go through its main cities: Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth over the next month.

Kylie has always been supportive to cancer victims, including raising awareness of prostate cancer after her father was diagnosed with it. In 2002 her bra was sold for £2,400 in an auction to raise funds for breast cancer awareness.
