Vendome fashion company to open international brand's first store in Tel Aviv this spring.
The International fashion brand Lacoste will open its first flagship store in Israel in March 2007, the owner of the Vendome clothing store chain announced Sunday.
The store will open in March 2007 in Kikar Hamedina (the State's square), one of Tel Aviv's most posh and expensive shopping areas, at a total investment of about NIS 500,000 (about USD 117,000).
"Vendome is opening Israel's first Lacoste store as part of the company's marketing strategy to expand its activity," said Dov Pollack. "After the success of four Lacoste sales points in four Vendome stores in Israel, we have decided to open the first Lacoste store in Israel."
"Opening the new Lacoste store in Kikar Hamedina clearly demonstrates the changes in the consumption culture of the fashionable Israeli man," he added.
The Vendome company was established 17 years ago by the Pollack family and now has 19 stores including seven Vendome chains, nine Nike chains, and two co-owned stores, Armani in Kikar Hamedina and a Vendome store in cooperation with James Richardson at the Ben Gurion Airport.
