Lily Cole, a 17-year-old sensation with the face of a porcelain doll, who exploded onto the international catwalk scene two seasons ago and was named Model of Year at the British Fashion Awards in November of 2004, has been appearing in the recent ad campaigns of the major labels.
Longchamp is the latest fashion house to have the astounding newcomer pose for them. The photographs, made by Miles Aldridge for the Spring/Summer 2005 ads, feature Lily lounging around the pool in a private castle outside Paris.
We chose Lily because we liked her for her strong personality and her recognizable and distinctive face, a rep for Longchamp told British Vogue.
We did not want a standard playmate and wanted to be different.
The ads are planned to appear in magazines and billboards in March.
