Madonna, Diana Ross, Maroon 5, Lenny Kravitz, Gloria Estefan and Mary J. Bilge are among the star performers joining the benefit special Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope which will air on Saturday.
Money raised from the concert will be donated to the Red Cross to help the victims of last months tragedy in Southeast Asia.
According to New York Post, the telecast, initially expected to last for one hour, will likely expand to two hours of the air due to the overwhelming interest from dozens of A-listers who convinced top executives at NBC that the show should be longer.
Virgin Megastores will do their part to offer relief to those affected by tsunami, mounting a day of live performances, 100 Acts of Support - The Concerts for Banda Aceh, in all 20 of its outlets on January 20. All proceeds will be donated to the Music for Relief Fund, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, reports Reuters.
