Tao Si Yuan won the title of Miss Universe China 2005 on April 27, and will represent the Republic of China in the Miss Universe 2005 pageant. The contest will take place in Bangkok, Thailand on May 30, 2005.

Native of Si Chuan, new Miss Universe China 2005 stands 1.72 m tall and is 21 years old. She is currently studying at the Beijing Film Academy and hopes to reveal the unknown side of Chinese women. "Traditionally, Chinese women are described as dignity and elegance incarnate and I want to show the world another side of Chinese women -- modern and stylish," said Tao Si Yuan. No wonder this girl has also been chosen Miss Energy and Miss Popularity!

This is not the first winning year for Tao Si Yuan: she became Miss Photogenic at Miss Universe China 2004 competition. Another two this years finalists are Zhang Nai Ou (left) and Tang Ta Nan (right) who together with Tao Si Yuan were chosen from 49 competitors.
