Mulberry fashion house has experienced the unexpected stock rise due to celebrities interest in the brands bags. These essential accessories have been purchased by the likes of Kate Moss, Kate Winslet and Scarlett Johansson.
The company has noticed that new handbag brands, including the Roxanne, the Ledbury, the Blenheim and the Bayswater, the favorite of Kate Moss, were especially popular among the buyers and boosted the profit. These spring stylish handbags are decorated with Mulberry brand pockets and broad straps.
The predictions of annual profit for the company, which will be announced in May, rose from £1.2m (€1.7m) to £1.6m (€2.3m). The sales growth in the first week of spring is 35% higher than Chirstmas one.
Despite the demand softening, which most of Mulberry's rivals suffered from, the house accessories orders increased up to 55% comparing with the previous year.
“Accelerating sales have outstripped expectations. The outlook is very positive, with strong demand for Mulberry handbags from all markets,” - said Godfrey Davis, chief executive of the firm.
The company sells its products from 13 UK strores including Harrods and Harvey Nichols, and imports its goods to France, Germany, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Japan and the United States.
