Naima Mora, a 20-year-old coffee shop waitress from Detroit, has been selected as the winner of the 4th season of Tyra Banks' reality show and titled America’s Next Top Model.
After the longest deliberation in the show's four-season history, Naima beat 19-year-old Keenyah and 21-yearold Kahlen, having participated in a TV commercial and photo shoot for a CoverGirl ad campaign for OutLast Makeup and a runway show for top South African designers Poison Ivy, Ruby, and Gavin Rajah .
"Uniquely versatile, undeniably edgy, Naima, the spunky girl from Detroit embodies a true cover girl,"said Tyra Banks, according to Reality TV Magazine.
Naima was awarded a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl and Ford models and a spread in Elle magazine.
"I was forced to look inside Naima and see what makes me me, what makes me beautiful, and I found it," said the tearful winner. "I felt I had to win this…because I represent something more than myself. I represent a black girl, a Mexican girl, I'm part Irish, I'm everything."
Naima joined the list of the show’s previous winners Adrienne Curry, Yoanna House and Eva Pigford, who are now luckily continue their careers as models and actresses.
America’s Next Top Model has become UPN’s most watched show attracting over 5 million viewers last season.
The show's hostess Tyra Banks is also gaining popularity by doubling her screen time this fall with her own new Oprah-like format daytime show.
