Troy heartthrob Orlando Bloom and his girlfriend of three years Kate Bosworth have decided to end their long-distance relationship. The couple’s publicist has confirmed the reports about the split, explaining that the actors did not have enough time for each other due to heavy filming.

"They did decide to take some time apart due to their upcoming work schedule, and they remain very close. It was a mutual decision," representative Robin Baum told People magazine.

28-year-old Bloom has been dating the 22-year-old Beyond the Sea star since they met on the set of a Gap advert in 2002. The couple has been reportedly engaged and already planned the wedding ceremony. The last time they were spotted together as recently as January 21 at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hotel, where Bloom was staying during the Golden Globe Awards.

According to the reports of FemaleFirst.co.uk, a close friend of the celebrities told a news source, "Orlando has said that's it all over between him and Kate and that's he's back in the dating game.

"It seems they were never together for longer than a week before one of them had to jet off to the other side of the world for film commitments.

"Kate's devastated by the split but the truth is Orlando has always been a bit of a ladies' man and thinks he's too young to settle down."
