Reebok announced last week that the company ends its partnership with tennis star Andy Roddick who had been the brand ambassador for the last five years.
The athletic shoe and clothing company signed a deal with Roddick in May 2000 but this time decided no to renew the contract giving no other reason except that it was a business decision.
"Throughout our relationship, Andy has always been a loyal ambassador for the brand and has continuously proven himself to be a player capable of bringing intense energy and excitement back into the sport of tennis, with a talent and charisma to forever change the game," Reebok said in a statement.
"As our contract came to a close, and after carefully considering what is in the best interest of our business, Reebok has elected to not continue this partnership."
Meanwhile, the tennis player, who is ranked No. 3 in the world, is reportedly planning to sign a major endorsement deal with Lacoste. According to Austin Business Journal, the contract could be signed as soon as next week and would bring Roddick about $5 million annually.
