Soccer star Rio Ferdinand replaced David Beckham as Britain's best-dressed man. According to the annual GQ magazine survey, the Manchester United defender, who appears astride a motorcycle in ads for Ben Sherman shirts, turns out to be the most stylish male of the country.
"He is the unlikely hero of the hour, a footballer who takes himself just seriously enough," Dylan Jones, editor of GQ's British edition, told AFP.
"He is a clotheshorse in the best sense of the word and has got great dress sense."
Portuguese manager of Chelsea, Jose Mourinho, has taken the second place on the list, while actor Jude Law, dubbed "a modern Cary Grant", was third.
Real Madrid star Beckham, who had topped the GQ most stylish list for three consecutive years, was infamously pushed to the very bottom. Britain's most famous metrosexual was labelled the worst-dressed male of England and "the original fashion victim" by shoe designer Manolo Blahnik, one of the expert judges.
