“Don’t use headless mananquins, if you don’t have headless clients,” said Michael Steward, the executive vice president of Rootstien America at the presentation of the new Rootstein Mannequins of London collection titled “Drama Divas”last week.

The event , which was attended by 250 people over the course of the 3 hour presentation, was held to presented to American retailers and the New York press a six foot four replica of Jade Parfitt as the company's 2005 celebrity supermodel mannequin. The model joined such famous individuals as Joan Collins, Suzanne Bartsch, Jodie Kidd, Anne V Bottom of Form and Erin O'Connor, who have already been "immortalized" by Rootstein Mannequins, the world's leading mannequin design company.

"It's wild," was Jodie's reaction. "I have had such fun with these guys [at Rootstein] from the beginning. They really took time with it and cared," FWD quoted the English model as saying.

"We did Jade as she is... We didn't cook it," explained Kevin Arpino . Director for Rootstein. "I mean, yes, it is stylized to a certain extent, but that's just the nature of the material we work in."

Cocktails were served among the beautifully staged and illuminated mannequins dressed in exquisite Charles James-inspired luxe gowns. The outfit of Parfitt's mannequin was designed for Parfitt by Jean Paul Gaultier. One of Rootstein's distinguishing features is the variety of active gestures they offer.

"Sometimes the model comes in and gives you the pose," Arpino said. "We try to capture their essence. And these girls, they know who they are."

"It was fun to play around with movement," Parfitt said about choosing her pose. "You always have to think, though, you have to think about the clothes, how are they going to hang?"

In the statement Rootstein said their newest collection was inspired by "six of the fashion worlds youngest talents". They are Ulla Van Zella, a German model and actress; Laiane, a 16 year old Brazilian model; Nairi, a Russian girl seen as the face of Vivienne Westwood on London billboards; Astra, a 19 year old Lithuanian beauty, Irene, a voluptuous and sensual exotique from the Cameroon, and English model Jade Parfitt.
