Charges against actress Rosario Dawson, originating from her arrest while filming a protest scene at the Republican National Convention last August, were dismissed on Tuesday.
25-year-old Dawson, fellow actress Vija Grosgalves and their director, Stephen Marshall, were filming an independent film "This Revolution" about political protests outside the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago and joined the crowd of anti-Bush/antiwar demonstrators to add authenticity to a scene. Though the three had a permit to film, the police arrested them, along with 1,800 protesters, and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental administration, reports The New York Times.
The case was dismissed after Assistant District Attorney Eric Arnone was shown the videotape and concluded that «there was no deliberate...action to block the street or sidewalk, nor was there any impediment to the free flow of pedestrian and vehicular traffic apparent, although a crowd had formed around the defendants as they filmed."
"I'm totally happy with how this went down," said the Alexander star.
