Miss Congeniality star Sandra Bullock has made a generous $1 million donation to the American Red Cross to help victims of the recent devastating Asian earthquake and tsunami.
Last week she contacted the Red Cross to provide financial support to the sufferers in the affected region. It is the second time the Hollywood actress makes a million-dollar gift to the organization. In 2001 she donated the same amount after the 9/11 attacks.
At this critical time, I am grateful to Sandra Bullock, for once again demonstrating her leadership, compassion and belief in our global humanitarian mission, said Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross. Sandra continues to enable our lifesaving work and is a model for personal generosity.
40-year-old actress, who was repeatedly named among the 50 most beautiful people in the world by People (USA) magazine, can next be seen in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, which is due out in March.
