Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker has signed a deal with the Lancaster Group of beauty giant Coty Inc. to develop her own fragrance line.
"The creative energy and dedication of the Lancaster Group is exactly what I am looking for in a beauty partner," Parker said in a statement. "Their admiration and passion for their brands is what I was impressed by, and I look forward to working closely with Lancaster Group to bring my first fragrance to the market."
"We are proud to be partnering with Sarah Jessica Parker whose qualities and values make her a global icon that women of all ages can relate and aspire to," said Bernd Beetz, CEO of Coty Inc. "Sarah Jessica embodies the values of the modern woman. She has the ability to manage a successful acting career and family with style and grace.
The perfume, meant for women “from 17 to 107”, according to Parker, is to be launched in the fall in department stores in the US and UK.
"I really wanted it to be sexy, though I didn't want it to be aggressive," said the actress, who has had penchant for fragrances since childhood.
"It'll be intentionally quiet, not a very aggressive scent. It's not a scent you'll smell before a person walks in a room. I don't want it to not have social skills!
"This is a part of my life I want to share with others... I really, really thought about it. I've been invited into women's lives and I take that seriously."
