Sean Combs, the hip-hop and fashion mogul who has already won the CFDA Award as the best Menswear Designer last year, has announced a new vice president of Sean John womenswear. It is Jenny La Fata, who, according to Combs, will bring the company new profits.
"Look at her," – said Combs about La Fata. "She's sporty, street and sexy. The Sean John woman really thinks the paparazzi is out to take her picture at every moment when she's walking down the street. Even if she doesn't have the platinum record out, she believes the paparazzi wants her picture and she dresses for it. She's got to combine street and sophistication – and that's an art."
La Fata is the one P.Diddy can trust: "There's not a lot of people who I'm going to entrust one of the most anticipated launches in a long time to. You have to have a creative fit and when you find that, it's a great day – and there's a lot of stress released." With La Fata’s help the businessman plans to launch his new womenwear line on summer to achieve his next goal: "We're going to press forward until I get that one for women's."
New womenswear line has been launched by Sean Combs last summer and at first he hired Max Wilson, who resigned from Ralph Lauren in February after 11 years working on the women's collections. New company vice president Jenny La Fata previously worked at such design houses as Daryl K, Katayone Adeli and Jill Stuart and was supposed to move on to Sean Combs house but has become the creative director of La Rok so Combs had to find someone else for the position at that time.
