Hip-hop star and clothing designer P. Diddy, aka Sean Combs, arrived at Montreal and Toronto to officially launch his Sean John designs in Canadian stores. During his stay on March 28 and 29, the 35-year-old mogul appeared on local television programs, met with key retailers in the area and concluded his visit with a show of his fall menswear collection, followed by an after-party at Toronto's Rosewater Supper Club.
"Sean John's taking over Canada!" he exclaimed. "We've had the U.S. conquered for a while, now it's time for Canada."
"I thought I was just going to have some drinks and some cocktails and show some clothes but if there's some hoopla involved with it, I'm with some hoopla," the Harlem-native star told Canadian Press.
The Sean John men's sportswear line was launched in 1998 as a result of Comb's passion for clothes which, he says, came from his childhood when he used to cut patterns for his grandmother who worked as a seamstress. The collections are designed four times a year and comprise urban-inspired sportswear, shirts, slacks, outerwear, T-shirts, hats and jeans.
In September the rapper is planning to launch a Sean John Women's couture line and later a fragrance.
