Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan has the worst fashion taste, according to style critic Mr. Blackwell’s 45th annual list of worst- and best-dressed celebrities.

“In barely-there bombs, she’s a taste-free pain. Let’s crown her the Tacky Temptress of Wisteria Lane,” he wrote in a statement released Tuesday.

Actress Lindsay Lohan was generously granted the second place by the acid-tongued censor as “over-hyped and under-dressed”.

Sisters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson landed in the third place. “These two prove that bad taste is positively genetic!” Blackwell said, as reports Associated Press.

Blackwell’s worst-dressed star of 2003 hotel heiress Paris, the “one Hilton that should be closed for renovation”, dropped to No. 5.

Other tasteless celebrities include Anna Nicole Smith, Meryl Streep, Paula Abdul, Britney Spears, Courtney Love and Serena Williams, who was described by Blackwell as “courting disaster.”

The “fabulous fashion independents” who won praise from Blackwell for 2004 are Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, Barbara Walters, Kate Winslet, Annette Bening, Oprah Winfrey, Scarlett Johansson, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Garner and Sheridan’s Desperate Housewives co-star Teri Hatcher.

Former fashion designer Blackwell called 2004 the year of many “wardrobe malfunctions” and expressed his wishes and precepts for the new year: “Here’s hoping 2005 takes the ultra-feminine look to new heights. Elegance, classicism and restraint are never out of style. Neither is a good 3-way mirror.”
